Overview
HerdPlan from SRUC is an online tool designed to aid health risk management for livestock farmers. It replaces traditional paper-based health plans with a digital solution that is quick, easy, and effective, aiming to help farmers increase their profitability.
HerdPlan is designed to work for various stakeholders in the livestock industry, including farmers, veterinarians, consultants, and auditors.
HerdPlan aims to improve overall farm productivity and animal welfare through a focus on collaboration and dynamic health planning.

This manual aims to provide information about basic workflows and concepts for different users, and make it easier to get started using HerdPlan.
Core Workflow, Concepts, and Philosophy
The diagram below shows a simplified overview of the core HerdPlan process.
The process links organisations (at a minimum a Farm and Vet Practice) to allow collaboration on a series of modules linked around three core topics (i.e. Production, Infectious Diseases, and Focus Areas) to develop a Health Plan.
Setting up modules involves defining actions and targets.
The Team Catch-up then allows these to be holistically reviewed at a Farm level, making it easy to track progress.
